Last night, it was the third "Super Saturday" of the season and it brought with it FIVE new entries for Lisbon! Hungary, Latvia, Moldova, Slovenia and Ukraine all confirmed their entries for this year's contest but who are their representatives? Who is following in the footsteps of Joci Papai, Triana Park, SunStroke Project, Omar Naber and O.Torvald? Find out below...

Hungary: AWS

Formed in 2006, AWS are a metal band from Budakeszi, Hungary. The band sings in many genres including metal, psychedelic rock, alternative and post-rock styles, but mainly perform metalcore and post-hardcore songs. The group is made up of five members - Bence Brucker, Daniel Kokenyes, Ors Siklosi, Aron Veress and Soma Schiszler - who all co-wrote their Eurovision entry, 'Viszlat nyar' (Goodbye, summer). Since the band formed in 2006, they have toured in many countries including Hungary, Austria, the UK, Romania and Slovenia. They also won the MTV Brand Award for New Winning Band. AWS won Hungary's A Dal after qualifying to the super-final in 4th place with only 8 points from the jury, however, the televoters must have taken a liking to the song, and therefore, it beat yesyes, Gergely Danielfy and Viktor Kiraly to take their unique entry to Lisbon!

Latvia: Laura Rizzotto

Born in Rio De Janerio, Brazil in 1994, Laura Rizzotto is a Latvian-Brazilian singer, songwriter, pianist and guitarist who has been singing since 2009. Her debut album, Made in Rio, was released in 2011, but failed to chart in both the Brazilian and Latvian charts. Before she begun singing, she always had a passion for musical arts, and she graduated with a degree from the California Institute of the Arts in 2013. She then received her master's degree in music from Columbia University in 2017. Laura won Latvia's Supernova last night after winning both the jury vote and televoting. Sudden Lights finished in second, and MADARA finished in third. Laura will perform 'Funny Girl' in semi-final 2 of this year's contest.

Moldova: DoReDos

DoReDos formed in 2011, and are a folk pop/dance trio from Ribnita, Moldova. The trio consists of the members Marina Djundiet, Eugeniu Andrianov and Serigu Mita. The trio have previously attempted to represent Moldova in 2015 (with the song 'Maricica') and in 2016 (with the song 'FunnyFolk'), however, they finished in 6th and 4th place respectively. In 2017, they won the New Wave Festival, marking Moldova's first win in the history of the contest, which begun in 2002. Many other former Eurovision participants won the New Wave Festival before they took part in Eurovision including Cosmos (Latvia 2006), Intars Busulis (Latvia 2009) and Jamala (Ukraine 2016). DoReDos will represent Moldova in Lisbon with the song 'My Lucky Day', written by Philipp Kirkorov (Russia 1995) and John Ballard.

Slovenia: Lea Sirk

Lea Sirk is a Slovenian singer/songwriter, born in Koper on 1st September 1989. She rose to fame in 2006 when she participated in RTVSLO's talent competition Bitke Talentov, where she finished in second place. She has also previously tried to represent Slovenia in 2009, 2010 and 2017 but was beaten by eventual representatives, Quartissimo, Ansambel Roka Zlindre & Kalamari and Omar Naber. Lea released her debut album, Roza, in 2014, however it failed to chart in Slovenia. Lea will represent Slovenia in Lisbon with the song 'Hvala, ne!' (Thanks, no) after beating runners-up BQL who failed to represent Slovenia for a second year in a row.

Ukraine: Melovin

After another nail-biting year of Vidbir, 20 year-old Melovin from Odessa has taken the victory, with a one-point lead over runner-up (for the second year in a row), Tayanna. Melovin began his musical career in 2015 when he won the sixth season of X Factor Ukraine. Soon after his won, he released his debut single 'Ne odinokaya'. Melovin is no stranger to Vidbir as he also took part last year with the song 'Wonder', however he placed third behind eventual winner O.Torvald and runner-up, Tayanna. However, this year was more successful for Melovin, as he won the national final with 11 out of a possible 12 points, meaning he will represent Ukraine in Lisbon with his song, 'Under the Ladder'.

So, what do you think about the five new acts? All of the acts will be taking part in the second semi-final which means they'll all be up against each other as well as being up against Australia's Jessica Mauboy, Denmark's Rasmussen, the Netherlands' Waylon, Russia's Yulia Samoylova, Serbia's Balkanika, Georgia's Iriao, Malta's Christabelle and Montenegro's Vanja Radovanovic. Who's your favourite to qualify from what was originally described as a 'blood-bath of a semi'? Let us know in the comments below.
