Dansk Melodi Grand Prix fan favourite, Rasmussen, will represent Denmark in Lisbon after winning DMGP 2018 with 50% of the superfinal votes. Rasmussen saw off strong competition throughout the show from the likes of Anna Ritsmar, Albin Fredy, Sannie, Ditte Marie and CARLSEN, but it was "Higher Ground" that took the victory.
Jonas Flodager Rasmussen (better known as Rasmussen) is 32 years old from Viborg, Denmark. He now lives in Langa, Denmark. As well as being a singer, Rasmussen also teaches at the Performing Arts School at Viborg Cultural School, which is in the town in which he was raised.
Rasmussen made the superfinal alongside Anna Ritsmar with "Starlight" and Albin Fredy with "Music for the Road". Anna Ritsmar finished in 2nd place with 31% of the votes and Albin Fredy finished in 3rd place with 19% of the votes.
In Lisbon, Rasmussen will perform alongside the likes of Jessica Mauboy for Australia, Waylon for the Netherlands and Christabelle for Malta, so he'll have to fight off some strong competition before even having a chance of qualifying.
In 2017, Denmark sent Anja Nissen to the contest in Kyiv, where she finished in 20th place with 77 points. However, only 8 of those were televoting points and all of which were from Australia - the country in which Anja was born. Will this hold a problem for Rasmussen to receive any points from the public?

Denmark debuted in Eurovision back in 1957, where they finished in 3rd place. Denmark has won the contest three times in 1963, 2000 and 2014. Since the introduction of the semi-finals, Denmark have only failed to qualify four times in 2004, 2007, 2015 and 2016. You can watch Grethe & Jorgen Ingmann's winning performance from 1963 below.
